The Toronto Star picked up an editorial of mine concerning Canada’s drug policy. I have been doing pardons for the past ten years so it’s safe to say I’ve encountered a few people whose lives were messed up pretty badly because of a minor possession charge. This is just one reason I think the war on drugs has to stop.
Just to be clear I am not a marijuana advocate. I don’t think it is a particularly good thing for people to be doing with their time but I also don’t think it should be illegal. Adults will smoke whatever they want to and no law is going to stop them. It’s time to stop wasting resources and ruining lives over that fact.
If you have time please take a moment and read the article on the Star’s website.
