Unauthorized possession of firearm (CC 91 (1)) / Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon (91(2)) is a hybrid offence, but it is normally tried summarily unless the individual is also being charged with other more serious offences. In cases where someone is convicted of this offence alone, they are usually required to pay fine and they are likely to be prohibited from possessing weapons for some period of time.
