Breaking and entering (CC 348) – Common Criminal Charges

Breaking and entering (CC 348) is an indictable offence if it involved a private residence. If it took place elsewhere, it is a hybrid offence. Sentences for this offence range from a fine and probation to a lengthy period of incarceration. The sentence is likely to be heavier if other crimes were involved, like theft or assault. Repeat offenders are also generally given heavier sentences and are more likely to be given jail time.
