Chris Brown denied entry into Canada
As everyone who cares knows by now Chris Brown was denied entry into Canada due to multiple arrests in the United States. He should have applied for a Temporary Resident Permit in advance, since I doubt he is eligible to be deemed rehabilitated. That he did not is astonishing considering the amount of money and energy that goes into putting on one of his shows.
But it seems to happen all the time. It’s surprising though. After all the celebrities who have been refused at the border you would think that the immigration rules for visitors with criminal records would be better understood by now.
And keep in mind that if you are a major musical talent from Canada, or just some nobody like the writer of this blog post, you can be refused entry to Canada if you have a criminal record. So it’s best to understand the laws before trying to cross, regardless of which way you’re going.
